Wireless Internet problem

I am having problems connecting wirelessly to my Dell Laptop Window 7. The Router seems to work just fine as I can get th Internet wirelessly with my IPad through the same Router.
Would really appreciate any help step by step to resolve this matter as I am not computer suavy atall.

On the right hand bottom of your computer right click the wireless computer icon (should be like an icon with two computers or an icon with a computer sending radio waves) and click repair

after that try this

Click "Start." Type the phrase "Network and Sharing Center" into the "Search" field and press "Enter."

Click your wireless connection's name in the "Connections" field. This opens the "Status" window for your connection.

Click "Diagnose." If any issues are found, you'll receive specific instructions on how to fix them.
