My Sony Vaio vgn-nw265f won't boot. As soon as I turn it on I see a very faint (light) image of the VAIO logo and then it goes black. The power light stays green but no display. I've tried removing/reinserting the ram, removing/reinserting the hard drive, a new hard drive, opened the bottom of the case and checked all connections and still it will not power on. Any other suggestions?

Have you tried connecting the laptop to an external monitor? It could be an issue with the display (backlight or cable connection issues). After the screen goes black does the whole computer shut off or can you still hear fans running?

- Try bunker6 suggestion.
- Try remove the laptop battery, unplug the AC power adapter and hold down the power button for 30-60 second. Then plug in the AC power adapter and power on the laptop see the problem still persist?

I have tried an external monitor and no luck. I tried the function/F7 key to in an attempt to try and enable it but still no luck. I've tried removing battery and AC and then booting off just AC or just battery but no luck/ Haven't held down for 30-60 seconds though. I'll try it tonight and report back...
