My laptop is an MSI CX420 one and it was running fine when I was at work earlier today. Now, when i'm trying to open it, it shuts down almost immediately after i try to boot it up. It shuts down so suddenly that i have no way of knowing what the problem might be. I've tried it a few time to no avail.

Byw, i've seen the blue screen a few times before and i dont know if that makes any difference. I dont know what to do now.

Solution
Try taking out the battery and see if the laptop boots. I just ran into the same problem with a Dell laptop it turns out the laptop was the problem. The laptop would go from a charged state to a discharged state to idle, and then repeat. Once the battery was drained the laptop would turn off before I could boot into windows.
Most likey a hardware issue, usually video card or motherboard. Try botting to Safe Mode, and also try a Linunx Live boot disk to see if that runs OK. That won't rule out the motherboard or video issue really but would rule out a power supply or RAM or hard drive issue.
