I bought a brand new ASUS Zenbook UX32LN (released this spring in Europe). Very nice laptop but there is one small detail annoying me really bad. The keyboard backlight does not turn on until you have logged into Windows (8.1 64-bit). At log in screen there is no backlight. Come on! You might just think that the main reason to have keyboard backlight is... yeah, to have keyboard backlight. Not randomly, not occasionally, but every time you need to use the keyboard in the dark and that, to me, includes typing your password to Windows. This seems just stupid!

What I know so far the backlight is handled by the Asus ATK package. I have checked services and there is an ATK service and that is already set to automatic.

Anyone knows if this can be fixed or do I have to rely on Asus to release an update?

Thanks!

That's what I suspected but it was worth a try. I guess the brands/models that have the backlight on, even at login screen, is controlled by hardware then, no driver in Windows needed...?

Thanks for your reply!
