I am looking for a new laptop pretty soon to play all my games at my friends in all over my country and so a laptop is handy for me. The Asus G750JS is a big gaming laptop to play every game nice and cool (for a laptop) and i don't want any slim-line notebooks or something because i just go somewhere, game and go back to my house and continue. But not the price keeps me worried. Just the all over lifespand of the thing. I want it to atleast last a lot of years for the pricetag. With that i mean the hardware that hopefully lasts some years but i don't know how long. Thanks!

Well, the speed of that system will be good for 3 years, for demanding games, maybe with a drop down to Medium settings for new games that will be coming out. About how long it will last before something breaks, that is a totally unknown factor aside from historical data.
No-one can tell you the system will last 3 years or 5 years or 1 year.

You can "hope" it will last a while, and ASUS is one of the top brands for quality. That does not mean that your particular laptop will guaranteed to be running in 5 years or 3 years, only in general terms, ASUS is as good as anything else you may get, so you should feel pretty confident with it.

For a laptop graphics card the GTX 870m is pretty powerful.

However, compared to a desktop graphics card it is roughly between the GTX 660 and GTX 660 Ti. That would generally mean that playing games at 1920x1080 resolution with high graphic settings (not max or uber) will result in 30 FPS - 45 FPS on average depending on how graphically demanding the game is. In a game like Bioshock Infinite which is not very graphically demanding, you should get 50 FPS minimum.

I just want to share, my ASUS G74sx still served me for the past 7 years. There were some problems with motherboard during the first year and got it replaced. Since then, I upgraded the storage to SSD and memory RAM to 16GB, and one replacement battery.

Yes, just like others said, the capability of this gaming laptop will decrease overtimes as new demanding title comes out, but I have a good run with this laptop, and hoping more years coming from it.
