I'm on XP and I tried to connect an external monitor to my laptop. But even when I try to set it to second monitor in screen options, it only functions as a secondary monitor. Meaning you can't run the full screen, with the entire windows screen with icons and the start bar, but only side apps like games etc. I tried all the options, dual screen, secondary screen and it obviously recognizes the secondary monitor but it just doesn't want to run the full desktop.
