XBOX 360 controller drivers (Long story)

A bit ago I downloaded the Xbox 360 controller drivers on my PC, my PS3 controller worked no problem, I could press the PS button and have it work brilliantly.

However, after about a month I get my controller and press the button, and nothing happens, I unplug it and plug it back in, the lights flash for about a minute then go off. My PC registers the controller in Control Panel as "ps3 controller".

I tried to reinstall everything, but on the Microsoft Xbox 360 accessories set-up, after clicking finish, is says "An unexpected error has occurred" and the set-up shuts down, however it still says the software IS installed on my PC.
The PS3 controller is supposed to come up as XBOX 360 controller as its being emulated I presume. And it has just suddenly stopped working.

No problem :)

I'm sorry but I've never used the drivers so I don't really know what could be causing the issue. Although now that you've loaded Motioninjoy once, all you need to do is start it up, hit enable, and close it (provided that you're using the same USB port) and the controller will work until the next reboot.

Yep, however, I loaded a drive and now it picks up my controller and works alright.
I knew about motioninjoy before but it's a huge hassle to deal with, so the drivers were better for me, if I can get them working again it would be better.

But this is a temporary/good solution, thanks.
