Hello everyone I had just built a new machine (1st one) and now I want to go surround sound 5.1 or 7.1 if I can, but not sure how that works with the motherboard and what sounds system would be good for it and how to hook it all in . I have a MSI Z97-Gaming 5 LGA 1150 Intel Z97 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard. Thanks in advance!

UPDATE! Just found this setup looks good. Would it be true 5.1 with my board?

the z906 is a great sounding system for the price, it rivals many of the hi-fi home theatre all-in-1 packages out there. The logitech system should come with the 3x 3.5mm cables you need to hook up all the 5.1 channels. just follow the user guide for the motherboard as to which connectors to use and then setup windows audio settings and/or the onboard sound settings to 5.1 sound. ont use the digital connectors use the discrete connectors to your speakers for proper 5.1. It's always a good idea to make sur eyou update audio drivers from the motherboard manufacturers website.
