Hello, I am trying to find a laptop to play some games. The problem I am having is trying to decide what kind of laptop I really need. I am very interested in getting a sony flip 15a with a core i7, 8gb ram, and a nvidia gtx735m graphics card with 2gb of dedicated ram. I have never really gamed on computers but definitely would like to play games like elder scrolls online, swtor, dayz, and dota because these are the kind of games that interest me. I don't know if these games are very graphically intensive games and I don't believe I need to play games on high to appreciate them. With that being said I do find that the touchscreen and tablet capabilities would definitely be beneficial to me, using it as kind of a bigger ipad and being able to get a little more leisure time use out of it. Is this computer good enough? Thank you for the help

I looked into the sony, as its a convertable with pen input and strong laptop. Really wanted it to work as i needed dedicated video card, and i have surface pro and love it but if could replace with a better all in one than great.

But there are way to many problems with the sony. Pen input is glitchy and a joke, sliding from tablet to laptop screws computer and needs restart. Touch screen input flaky, trackpad issues galore. Its really great computer, and i really do wish it wouldve worked, but it is def not something i would recomend in the least.

If you're looking at the 15 inch model, thats what $1200? Theres so many better slim/light laptops or bigger and more powerful in that price range.
Which would you be more interested in?

Note, that sadly there arent any worthwhile tablet/laptops that have dedicated gpu. Best for gaming is still surface pro. I have first gen, play skyrim and such, but no way would dayz or anything of that sort play on it at all. And sadly, you could probably pick up a first gen surface pro for dirt cheap when the new ones come out, and then use your left over budget for a gaming laptop that fits your remaining budget.

Thanks for the help dblkk! Well that is where the problem lies. I do want a computer that can play these games without lag but would much rather have a slim build. You say that the surface is pretty good? I was thinking about a surface pro 3 with an i5 and 8 gb of ram but no dedicated graphics card. Another option would be the Msi gs70 17" laptop but not being a super serious gamer don't know if I am comfortable spending that much on a dedicated gaming laptop. I guess these two are on different sides of the spectrum but would love some more advice. Thanks again. Sorry not to tech savy so definitely appreciate it.

Depending on budget, the 'best' ideal slim powerful laptops sub $2000 a variation of msi gs ghost models depending on budget determins the specs of the model you can get. Anything over $2000 and razer blade depending on budget determines how much storage space you get. But overall the ghost is great. Will have some fan noise and run warm while gaming, but its slim/light/with great performance. You can get slimmer/lighter models sub $2000 that were just announced and not out yet. But they will be slim light and offer lower class gpu's for the same price as the ghost with a 870m in it.
