Extremely frustrated with trying to hook up my laptop to the TV. I feel like i have tried everything. Is it possible for them to just simply not being compatible and thats that?

New Asus laptop with Windows 8.1 Intel 4400 and Geforce 740m. Model k551lb-xx229h.
Latest drivers
Facts: The TV connects perfectly well with my other two computers and the Xbox.
This computer connects with no problems to my computer screen.
I have tried using Display Fusion, without any luck.
I consider myself pretty techsavvy, but I am completely lost on this one.
