Hi, I am getting a custom built PC soon and I was just wondering do I need to install a motherboard driver, if that what it is called? I know I need to install my GPU drivers. Is there any other type of drivers I need to install, including the motherboard driver?

You should get cd/dvd with your motherboard. For start you can install drivers on that disk, same should be for gpu.
Monitor won't need drivers it should be recognized by system, either it will use generic driver or it will download right from internet, most of other devices should also use either generic driver or download it from net. If you get something which came with cd/dvd with drivers for your OS, just install those drivers.

Later you can check websites of manufactuers for your products if they got newer version of drivers.

The custom built pc will be from a website and they do install the motherboard and install the operating system. I am just wondering if the motherboard driver still needs to be installed.

Ah so someone else will build it and install OS for you? If they do they do their job well you won't need to install anything, but to be sure you can ask them if they installed all drivers for motherboard and gpu.

there's no motherboard driver, but there's a chipset driver (north and south bridges) that are found on the mother board
