So i have an asus notebook. I just recently installed windows 8.1 on it and now im downloading all these asus essentials. One of the programs said it only works with asus computers. Also, on the pc info area, it usually says asus and the logo, but it only shows windows 8.

Am I suppose to update or download something?

Hello,

The error stating "This program only works with Asus computers" you would need to ask Asus directly about...
The missing Asus logo and support information is normal, that is preinstalled by Asus when they setup the operating system.

If you installed Windows 8 from a Microsoft disc or a download from Microsoft, it won't show any references to ASUS or the ASUS logo.

You only get the ASUS logo in the information area with the factory pre-installed Windows version which has been customised by ASUS. You can't put it there yourself, just ignore it. All you can do is download & install the ASUS drivers and leave it at that.

you might want to contact asus about that since you need to reinstall THEIR software and you´ll probably need the serial no. etc. Asus has a pretty good teck support system so that will probably be the best thing to do.
