My D7000 has the error of "This memory card cannot be used. Card may be damaged. Insert another card." even though there is nothing in the slot. It only happens in slot 2. If I insert a card in slot 2 the error disappears. Help please

Solution
If all else fails, you can swap out the SD card slot. they cost about $15 and all you need to do is desolder the old one, and solder in the new one. (due to the high plastic content, do not heat the pins and then tap the solder to the pin, for these slots, desolder the old one, then insert the new one and add flux to the pins. After that, get a bead of solder onto the solder tip, and then tap it onto the pins after you have applied the flux, this allows you to keep the soldering iron to the pins for a shorter amount of time while getting a good solder wetting action. (depending on the solder slot, eventually the pins will loose their springiness and not make good contact)
