hello there
I have a dell latitude 2100 laptop which worked super fine.
but accidentally my brother inserted another laptops charger into it and since then its not powering up.
Its not getting powered up neither on battery neither by charger (independently)
Now since i have opened it i can spot brown thing spread on IC which is no where near supply section, but near RAM section.
Can anyone help please.
I don't have funds so i would love to have it back.
thank you :)

Maybe some pictures would be more revealing. Ideally a power supply should have protection against receiving too much voltage and if all that blew up was a protection circuit you might be okay. Resistors are sometimes used as fuses in these cases. A diode would only protect against current flowing in the wrong direction, ie a power brick wired backwards as compared to the proper one.
