Electrostatic Damage Question

Well the post laptop purchase paranoia has set in (for me at least)...

So I might be worried over nothing, but I was using my laptop normally, and wasn't opening it up working with the RAM or anything. Anyways, my socks rubbed on my carpet and I got the classic static buildup. So when I touched my laptop edge with the screen open with my finger, I received a slight shock. The same thing happened minutes laptop when I touched the mousepad...

So... should I be worried about anything? I know electrostatic damage doesn't show up right away, but I'm just afraid something could have happened.

Solution
No, there is little to no concern there, the frame of the laptop acts as a ground and will safely dissipate the static charge. That is a design concern manufacturers take into consideration. I won't advocate petting the cat while on a wool carpet with socks on and then running to the laptop but an incidental shock when touching the laptop should not be detrimental to the laptop.
