its a sony hd hdr-cx150 handycam recorder and i have been having problems with the coloring of the lcd screen. its almost as if parts of the image are negative, usually ill turn it off and take the battery out and that usually fixes it but now i can seem to get it to change back. any suggestions on what part i need to replace so that i can fix it please?

Solution
If taking the battery out and putting it back in fixes the issue, the problem may be related to either the battery (weak) or the contact terminals inside the camera, or a combination of both.

On my electronic and electrical equipment I fix such problems by cleaning the terminals and appropriately bending them if necessary. This depends on your expertise and level of comfort in performing such tasks.

Another option which I found effective is to check the Community forums. Others there may have had the same issues. http://community.sony.com/?XID=M:header:esupport

Good luck!

thank you. i did infact take it apart before actually testing if it recorded the splotchy negative parts, which it doesn't. so i now believe its the lcd screen that has gone bad.

In that case continue to use the camcorder as-is, as long as it works.
