Hi everyone, I was looking for a gaming headset with nice audio. I picked up the logitech G930 because i was able to get a 100 dollar give card to Best Buy. So far I'm not so impressed. The mic is better than my previous headset by I'm not so impressed with the audio.
Is there a good set of earphones for around 100 dollars with great audio you guys can recommend? I wouldn't mind finding another mic to use if the headphones don't have a mic.

Thanks for any help :)

Make sure you're using the custom EQ (its 10-band if I remember correctly). You can make them sound decent with that. When I first plugged in my old pair of G930's I was extremely unimpressed, but was able to work out a good deal of the complaints with some EQ adjustments. After the adjustments, my biggest complaint in the sound quality department was the low end distorting when the volume was raised even just a bit.

Whats wrong with your audio? make sure you have the 7.1 switch turned down on the headset you your getting surround. You should also make sure Logitech game software is not running, about 1/2 of the headsets have issues with the past 5 versions but work fine with out it.

The audio on my friend's 60 dollar turtle beach sounded better is all and so I'm not impressed with this. I listen to lots of music so I'd like high quality. And I want the switch for the surround turned on, right? Thanks for the reply by the way :p

Down = on

unless you have got 320kbps FLAC or MPEG 4 audio, its going to be loss format and not sound so good.

Wait... before you do anything... allow me to offer you some advice... I also have the G930 and yes.. the audio was bad... with bass distortion... but the trick is to change the EQ settings... I found a specific setting that's perfect for the G930.. use this first:
