I am looking for a 3.5mm 4-pole to 2x 4-pole Y-Adapter. As an example, something that can enable two 3.5mm smartphone headsets which have stereo sound and mic (4-pole on both headsets) to be plugged into one smartphone via the 3.5mm jack. I have found plenty of splitters and adapter that take a 4-pole and split it into audio and mic, but I am looking for an adapter that "Y-Splits" a 4-pole jack into 2x 4-pole jacks.

i just spoke to a guy at CablesOnline and he said their engineer told them that their 4-pole Y-splitter purposefully only connects the microphone pole through to one of the female ends because other wise one ends up with feedback. here's their product:
http://www.cablesonline.us/IP-Y02
( or likely cheaper on Amazon for a single unit at http://www.amazon.com/CablesOnline-Female-Stereo-Splitter-IP-Y02/dp/B00IKMSMWI/ )

do you really want to have two microphones enabled at once?
