Best 60-65" HDTV Under $1,600? - Please help me Decide!

Hey guys!
I have an HDTV selection question for you.

Background
I have been in the market for a 60-65" television under $1,600.
Bigger is definitely better, but I am open to compromising on size for functionality, picture quality, sound, and overall experience.
"Smart TV" and WiFi functionality is important to me, as I do not have a cable subscription. However, 3D functionality and 4k is not something I'm currently looking for. My primary uses for the television will include gaming and media consumption through Netflix, Youtube, and Amazon Instant (if available on the TV).

Televisions I'm Considering
I am not too familiar with what makes for a great TV, but my research has led me to the following units:

You may have noticed that the majority of the units above are 60". I'd of course prefer a 65" TV, but I haven't been able to find much with the right mix of features, quality, and price at that size.

Thoughts?

Which HDTV would you go for?

In the alternative, is there another HDTV between 60-65" that you'd recommend in that price range?

Ideally, I'll make the purchase within the next week, and so I'm heavily relying on your thoughts/suggestions.

i would recommend against smart tv functions. the particular tv models are only supported for a short period of time and when the updates stop happening then the programs will not work anymore. also its limited to start with.

instead, perhaps use a roku, sony streaming player or better yet a laptop if you happen to have one with hdmi out. much more function and its better supported.

i would avoid 120/240hz televisions if possible as you will likely turn it off. most people do not like it since it gives the soap opera effect to shows. while technically "superior" we are so used to seeing tv in a certain way that it looks alien to us. mostly it just stays around because of sports fanatics liking it.

i would suggest staying with samsung, sony or lg. they are solid companies.

sharp and vizio are lower and companies and while their products would work they are generally considered more disposable.

we have a samsung un50eh6000fxza in the other room which works great. its a 50" 120hz (we disabled it so its 60hz now) without smarttv and for the price it is great. i would suggest looking into the 60" size. the current model appears to be as below

as for your smarttv options... i would suggest using a seperate box for this or laptop.

additional notes:
one thing i did like about the vizio in your list above is how it has a grid-array backlighting for the leds. this gives you better contrast levels over models which are just edge lit. normally this is a feature you only find on high end models.

Thanks ssddx, that's a huge help! In regard to the smartTV functions, my plan was to rely on the TV and switch to a Roku (or another media device) once the support started to wane. I also like the fact that I won't need to mess with other remotes, etc.

To be clear, your recommendation is the Samsung you linked to? That doesn't seem too different from the "Samsung UN65H6350 65-Inch 1080p 120Hz Smart LED TV" referenced above, but for appearance, SmartTV functionality, and of course, price.

Among the ones I linked to above, is your recommendation between the Samsung UN65H6350 65-Inch (I may go for the 60" of that model instead) and Vizio?

the reason i specifically linked the one i did is because i believe its the newer bigger version of what we have here in the house so i can vouche for its picture. i'm not sure about the other samsung you listed.

the smart functions on tvs are quite limited. you would be better off getting something else now but that is your choice. if you want smart tv then go ahead however its not all its cracked up to be.

i would suggest samsung over vizio generally. however as i said before i liked the fact that the vizio was grid-array backlit.

what i would suggest doing is to look at these televisions in person if you can.

I Think Samsung UN65H6350 good becouse Picture quality is so great there are times when I think I have actually falling into the TV only to find out I’m just motor boating a screen. Want to stream Turn Down for What on youtube to your TV to set the mood? Consider it done. You wont be disappointed…until you realize that Kat Dennings isn’t actually in your living rooms wearing that outfit.
