Hard Drive Power Issues?

I have this laptop and the power brick I have is 15W 1.7A (I know it's not powerful enough) when it is supposed to have a 65W 3.4A.

When I power on the laptop it boots into the BIOS fine but when I boot the OS and it needs to access the hard drive it stops and reboots.

Sometimes it gets into the boot screen and freezes, other times it doesn't and the screen turns black (Usually when the power brick is warm/hot [it heats up quite quickly]).

Is this a power delivery problem or a faulty hard drive?
Thanks for the help :)

Solution

Yes it spins up and runs just fine, I'll replace the power supply and see if that helps...
