Firefox browser corrupted with ads

Have internet explorer, chrome and firefox on a windows 7 x86 machine. Navigating with firefox launches a mass of rogue URLs. This browser is the only one affected. Virus and malware scans cannot identify he offending object. Guidance sought

Check in your control panel-programs and features for any unknown program, and unistall it if you find. Also check the firefox Addons-extensions for any unknown and disable it also.

that's right. lots of add ons for firefox to stop most of that. ( tools/addons ) look at the top of your screen.
