I recently bought an hp envy 17 pc. i have a gt 750m graphics card. i can play games like far cry 3 on high settings around 45-55 fps. but after a while i notice it starts stuttering. when i check my temps with msi afterburner it reads around 96-97 decrees celsius. is this bad for my gpu and/or hardware?

Temperatures like that is always bad, but that's a laptop so the gpu is not cooled properly. Try lowering the setting to medium to keep the temperatures below 80 degrees. Don't worry, games these days still look beautiful even on the lowest settings.
