is it possible to turn of the dedicated card off

so guys as im sayin...is it possible to turn off the dedicated card in a laptop to make it last longer n turn back on when needed...

Are you referring to the second hard drive? No, it cannot be turned OFF and ON at will.

The graphics card is what provides the display. No, it cannot be turned OFF and ON at will.

okae then...thnx...anyway could u suggest a multimedia laptop for my cousin who will be goimg to college next month...he wants it from Asus only his budget is 500-800 usd

you can just use power saving mode in the power options.

just, right click on the battery icon on the system tray, then choose power saving instead of balanced or high performance.
it will limit the use of the dedicated GPU and force the laptop on using the Intel graphics chip.

but if you play games that require significant gpu power, then the dedicated GPU chip will power back on.
