Okay so I am looking for aa new laptop (old one broke on me) and I would like one that meets the requirements for an ultrabook, but I have no clue which one is the best bang for my buck and lot of them are really pricey.

I am a student so long battery life, good screen resolution and a SSD are the things I am looking for. The SSD can be 128GB. The OS can be anything, if it is windows 8.1 thats good, but if it's anything else I'll probably wipe the drive and put linux on it. Help is appreciated.

Budget is 1200$ But try to keep it as low as possible. Touchscreen is not required, but if it has then thats ok.
