Is there a way to use the motherboards integrated sound card with a Logitech g930 headset.
I read that it is a usb headset with no 3.5mm jacks, and that in order to use your headset with the on board sound you need to use the 3.5mm jacks on the motherboard. So is there a way I can use the on board audio with the Logitech g930?

I'm going to be using a Asus Maximus VI Hero and I want to use the integrated sound with a really good 7.1 headset.

A headset using USB instead of audio jacks will put the sound load directly on the CPU, and use a driver that will most likely come with the headset.

if you want 7.1 surround sound through 3.5mm jacks.. it looks like you're limited to top-end gaming headsets like http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16826153089

I have the Logitech G35s with digital dolby 7.1 through USB and i have been very happy with them.

Most headphones will be 5.1 and go through one-3 audio jacks..
(Generally 7.1 through the audio jacks are meant for speakers that you set up around you like a home media)
