Hello

I have a HP Pavilion G6 which has uses an AMD APU the A4 series (Think it's 1.9Ghz). I believe the laptop may be overheating because speedfan reports temps of like 70c+ at times and the CPU can go to 100% by just doing something simple like Web browsing. The fan gets rather loud like a jet liner or something.

I've checked the HP support and they say the fan can be clogged with dust. I followed the method of compressed air to the vent and It didn't solve my problem. Against my better judgement I decided to open up the laptop and check inside. It was a pain to dissemble/assemble and yet I found no dust blockage. Dust isn't the issue here and I should also mention I've installed all of HPs recommended updates and Bios.

I'm all out of ideas and just trying to see if anyone else has this problem or knows what it could be? I know HPs are known (Maybe at least this model) for problematic cooling. In all probability it's a HP design flaw. Thanks

Solution
70s C is not considered overheating for an A4 (I'm going to take a stab in the dark in that yours is a 3300M). The AMD APUs are not very efficient, so you may experience this sort of behavior even under mild stress on the laptop.
