I have a Acer Aspire 5530. When I power the laptop on. All lights come on. Screen is black. Dvd drive makes a short buzzing sound. When I listen at the bottom there are two short beeps then silent than two short beeps again and so on. When I open the dvd drive the beeping stops. I have tried removing the ram and inserting them again. Ive tried unpluging the ac and battery and holding down power button for 1-2 minutes. Ive tried removing the hard drive. Ive tried hooking it up to an external source. And nothing. I can heard the fans running. The lights come on. But no screen. Im hoping its just the RAM and not the Mobo. But that wouldn't explain the beeping and the buzzing from the dvd drive. Anyways if you all can help me that would be appreciated. Thanks!

That most likely isnt the hard drive.. seeing as if it was you would at least see a post screen, the beeps sound like post beeps try actually resetting the cmos also. take out one ram stick and see if it runs with just one in if it doesnt try the other ram stick, this will give you a process of elimination for figuring out whats wrong. I highly doubt the hdd would cause this seeing as the hdd is only initialized after the bios post.. so you should be getting like at least an acer logo if it was the hdd. so most likely bad ram sticks. im looking through the acer beep codes now and they dont list two short beeps as one of their standards BUT that usually means ram in my experience. so try one ram stick at a time

That happened to my Toshiba as well, tried everything you did, didn't success. I then brought it to the service centre and it was my hard drive that had problem
