Hey everyone,i am going to buy a new laptop and i was wondering if i should go for 4th gen i5 or 3rd gen i7.I will basically use my laptop for quite a lot of gaming,a little music, movie watching and surfing the net,so the basic functions with the exception of gaming. So,what do u guys recommend?

THANK YOU

Generally the i5 is plenty for gaming. The 4th gen i5 will consume less power, so if your on battery on the road you will have a bit more battery time (if that matters to you). The i7 is good too, but if the cost difference is a bit too much I would go with the i5. Did you have some make/models that you had in mind?

generally for gaming you want to stick to quad core. whether that is 3rd or 4th gen its still pretty solid. However I personally would focus more on the GPU power.
there is no mobile I5 processor that is quad core - they are all dual core. Even some of the I7s are dual core.
generally if its an I7 3630M or I7 4700MQ it's ideal.

Ok let me give you some advice. I also live in India. The model of y510p that guy is suggesting has 2X nvidia gt 755m in sli. The model you are looking at only has 1 gt755m. The one they are selling in india for about 75K is available in the us for about 50K or so.

If you have any relative that can get you one from US, then well and good. Otherwise you would have to go with that one only.
What I did was getting a MSI GT60 From US to India through one of my relatives. Costed about 100K.(INR)

As far as warranty goes Lenovo offers international warranty.
