Over the weekend I had what I believed was a HDD failure on my laptop; an ASUS ROG G73J. On Sunday I went to swap out the HDD believing it had simply died; I opened the case and found that in fact the HDD (one of two) had simply become disconnected. I observed that the other drive would not have this problem as it was encased in a silicon sleeve which allowed it to sit comfortably and snugly in the unit. Is this normal for a laptop? If so were can I get a sleeve or mounting for the other drive? I found this on Newegg and am on the fence if it is the correct item:

There should be a caddy designed for your laptop to hold the drive. That newegg one may or may not fit, but either way it wont be bolted down and wont be as good as the one intended for your computer.

You can try ebay or the OEM to get the caddy.
I would also try to figure out why there is a hard drive with no caddy in the laptop
If the laptop is used then there is nothing to do but order one. If it got sent to a repair shop or came from the factory that way you should be able to compain and get your laptop restored to the way it is supposed to be (by them getting you a caddy).
