Hi,

I've been looking at some laptops on eBay, and I don't really know which one to get.

Purpose of the laptop:

  • School Work
    Programming (Python, Java)
    Watching Netflix (regularly)
    Simple Multitasking

Now here is the list of laptops I have gathered up, all with their prices from ebay.

  • ASUS X102BA - £200
    Lenovo ThinkPad T410 - £200
    Acer Aspire V5-121 - £175
    Acer Aspire V5-122P - £180-£250
    Advent Tacto 11.6" - £200
    Packard Bell EasyNote TE11 HC - £200
    Acer TravelMate B113 11.6" (Pentium) - £170
    Dell Studio XPS 1340 (Windows 7) - £195

Or, is there any other laptop, on eBay that is cheap? (don't mind if used/refurbished)

If so, I would like to have:

  • 11inch to 13.3 inch screen
    Windows 8/7 (8 preferred - maybe ChromeOS)
    Less than £200
Long Battery life & low weight
    Good keyboard
    HDMI port
    maybe SD Card Slot

Thank you.

This T410 is going to top your budget, coming out around 250 dollars with shipping. But it has a 120 gig ssd (they are stock 160 gig, so not missing much storage), come with a more powerful i5, and is definitively the best pick out of all of these. Most of the ones you linked are going to be slow because they're basically meant to be a disposable laptop in my mind- ie you use it for a year or two and get rid of it. The Lenovo is a fantastic laptop and should work fantastically.

Thanks for the reply. Is there anything maybe smaller, 13.3 inches perhaps? Perhaps thinner, and a HDMI port?
