vizio tv and dvd with jbl sb100 soundbar

vizio tv currently hooked up to vizio dvd player and direct tv via hdmi cables but the dvd player was hooked up via analog audio(not sure why). The soundbar only works if I hook it directly to either dvd or direct tv box ... any suggestions?

If you connected the DVD to the TV with HDMI there will be no analog audio input on the TV that will work with that input as HDMI is audio and video. As to the soundbar you probably need to connect it to the TV with an optical audio cable. Most TVs have only this audio output. Check the TV audio menu and see if it needs to be set.
