OK so my wife has just mentioned that now that we have moved in to a larger bedroom in the house she would like a TV in there. Whoo Hoo more technology to buy!!

I am presently networking the house up with CAT5e cable and with this news will be running cable to the aforementioned bedroom. I have my windows 7 PC located downstairs that has all of our media on there. This stays on most of the time but i expect it will be replaced by a NAS which will obviously be on 24/7.

My question is, what would be my best choice of 40-42" Television to access the media as well as online entertainment BUT only using the TV to access this. ( I have a WDlive downstairs hooked up to the network which works fine but i don't want to have to get another one)

I love Panasonic but try to steer clear of Samsung and LG (Yep I'm a snob).

Please help!!

Thanks in advance:)

Most new Smart TVs also have built in wifi. But running from downstairs, ethernet cable is probably a good idea.

Probably Sony has the best rep in not only TVs. But you have to look at reviews and work out what features you want and what the remotes are like and how quick are the TVs with ethernet. And picture and sound quality. And do you want 200Hz with that sir?

Here at Tom's we are probably more oriented towards pc monitors than TVs.

If I was you, I'd do a lot of Googling and visit a lot of stores.
