White screen and beeping sound. When turning on.

Alienware laptop.

I would get a couple of blue screen death, ever so often. Then flew to australia, and now I get white screen and beeping sounds, when i turn it on. I press control-alt-delete, the screen goes black and then for about 2-4 seconds it will then starting beeping with the white screen.

Help please.

Post BIOS make (eg Award, AMI etc)
Also post the actual number of beeps, and whether they are short or long beeps (or a combination of both).

So, went to get it fixed, and after a lot of money. They say it is, a problem with the screen or motherboard. There was 8 beeps, which they say it is either the motherboard, screen or cable issues. They tested the cables and say it is not that.

As it is dell, and i would like to change the motherboard, of eBay would it be a problem. Or do i need it to be a dell product as it is of the Dell. It is an alienware m17x laptop.

To your question i dont know what BIOS it is. I tried to look it up but could not find out. I dont have any of the information on it as on the other side of the world. Also the guy who had a look at it, when he took it apart and put it back together, it is now black screen instead of white. He says that there are two sockets and he put it the other one. I have been screwed over?? I feel like i am in the deep end and honestly not sure where to go.

Help please.

You need a Dell motherboard, same model motherboard as the faulty one.
