i extended my laptop display to external monitor only but my laptop shows a blank screen when connected to the external monitor and shows a black screen when not connected it luckily displayed today morning and i changed the display to laptop screen only but now its only showing a blank screen when or when not connected to the external monitor am wondering why

if your wanna see on both tv and laptop screen your need identified screens from Control Panel ,display.or just press two key Fn and screen button somewhere on the top of the keyboard.

From what I understand, you want to connect your laptop to an external monitor to extend your total screen space. Right click on the desktop, go to screen resolution, then you should be able to see both your laptop's display options as well as your external monitor's display options. Try changing the "Multiple Displays" option. You can choose from extend these displays and duplicate these displays. The problem may be that this setting is set to show desktop on monitor 1 or 2.
