Not playing nicely together

Right this is going to take some explaining, so if you think you can help then make a brew and get comfortable.

I've got a self built HTPC, Xbox 360 and Sky+HD box all connected to an Onkyo HT-R390 via HDMI leads which is then connected to my TV via a HDMI lead. It's all been working just fine on my 32" which I've had for years so decided yesterday I would buy a 42" to replace it. Link to new TV.

All I did was swap the TV's, I did nothing else. Didnt change any leads, or alter any settings. I watched Sky for a bit yesterday afternoon and everything seemed great, really happy with my new TV. Then in the evening I started up the HTPC so I could watch a movie, straight away I noticed it was suddenly 'snowing' inside my TV.

I checked all the connections, I checked the settings on my new TV, I double checked the connections, I then reset everything to factory settings on my new TV and the Onkyo, I even swapped the HDMI inputs around. Everything had 'snow' on it. By 'snow' I mean loads of little white dots flashing on and off all over the screen.

Here's where I try different solutions so bare with me.

Not fixes
- I disconnected everything and reconnected it all. Same problem.
- I disconnected everything and reconnected only the HTPC. Same problem.
- I connected the HDMI output from the Onkyo to HDMI input 2 on my new TV. Same problem.

Fixes
- I connected the HDMI output from the Onkyo to my old TV. Problem gone.
- I connected a HDMI from the HTPC straight to the new TV bypassing the Onkyo. Problem gone.

So in conclusion, bypassing the Onkyo works on my new TV but connecting the Onkyo to my old TV works. Both TV's are LG. The Onkyo pulls the 5.1 from the HDMI and my new TV only has 2 HDMI's so I cannot remove the Onkyo from my setup.

Can anyone shed some light on why my new TV doesnt like the signal from the Onkyo? I just cannot work it out.

It looks like the Onkyo is picking up interference from the HTPC. Can you move the HTPC further away from the Onkyo or route all the cables as far away as possible. Do you have any other HDMI outs on the HTPC you can try?

As a follow up post, to eliminate any possible source of interference I've pulled my setup apart.

I have the 32" connected to one wall socket, the 42" to another and the Onkyo to a different one. I have just one HDMI lead from the output of the Onkyo to the input of the 32", perfect picture on the setup screen. I put the same HDMI lead into the 42" and its got the white dots. It's NOT the TV because bypassing the Onkyo gives a perfect picture. This doesnt make sense!

It is a guess but to me the most likely is still the Onkyo picking up interference but the new TV seems to have less interference filtering on the input.

If you google the new TV can you find evidence of anyone else having similar problems?

There are posts on forums from people who are having the same problem with Onkyo equipement, ie. the 'snowing effect' but it isnt the same reciever or the same TV. I cant find anything related to my exact model numbers.

I've just updated my new TV's firmware and reset to factory default. Tried changing the noise reduction settings which makes no difference whatsoever.

I've just put the HDMI lead into input 2 of the new TV after performing a firmware update and the white dots are still there but not so obvious.
