My laptop won't seem to keep a connection through my wireless router, it will connect, but then it loses connection. We run iPads and iPhones with the wireless and have no problem, it just seems to be the laptops.

Can be any number of things, so I would first see about turning off the PASSWORD on the router, then try to connect the laptop, does it work then? If so then put in a new password for the router, now try the laptop again. Does it connect? If not then there is either a issue with the router itself (failing) or the encryption type, because it does depend what Windows / PC your talking these laptops are. Normally you want systems all running WPA2, but XP based systems weren't capable of that (hence a reason to go Vista, then finally 7).

The best test is to PLUG in the laptop directly to the router, is it getting Internet then? If not then there maybe malware (go to www.filehippo.com and download malwarebytes and do a fulls can on it - MALWARE IS NOT picked up by antivirus) or need abetter / different Antivirus (if you use Microsoft Security Essentials remove it and download AVG or AVAST!).
