I would like to know if after using the one key recovery system (lenovo) and reverting it to its initial state (i.e. factory settings) will my laptop revert back to windows 8 even though i had upgraded it to windows 8.1?

Thanks,
Moez

It will revert back to exactly how it came from the store. Windows 8.

Oh okay, I also read somewhere that if i were to revert it back to factory settings that i would have to pay to upgrade it to windows 8.1- is this true?

I have never heard that. Doubtful. The 8.1 upgrade from the MS Store is free.

If you originally upgraded from Win-7 then you need to find the receipt email from Microsoft for your Win-8 purchase. From there you can follow a link to redownload the Win-8 setup file. After you reinstall Win-8 you can re-upgrade to Win-8.1 from the Windows Store. I am going through this as I type.....very painful.
