Hello how are you guys, so i wanted to ask are all i5 laptop's dual core?? If they are than what is the point of buying i5 why not buy i3 or refurbished c2d laptops those are all dual core too and since multithreading is not used much why buy i5? Another thing is that is there any good laptop under $500 which can play watch dogs low to med settings prefer med settings but low will work. But under $500.

Solution
They are actually dual cores with 4 threads.
2 cores and 4 threads.
with a budget of 500$ you'd rather take an Laptop based on an APU like AMD or otherwise put in some more and take a laptop capable of gaming or else your left with Intel integrated graphics for gaming

Yes, the mobile i5 are dual-cores with HT, which make them similar to desktop i3. Half the mobile i7 models are dual-cores with HT too. If you want a quad-core mobile chip, you have to get an i7 model that ends with either QM or XM.

So if i go with i5 laptop it is vain and i cannot get a decent laptop which can play watch dogs (under $500 mark). I am better building a gaming pc with that budget right?

So here's the deal my dad and i am currently arguing. He said that he will buy me a laptop and i am saying i want to build a gaming pc. Now i know that there aren't good laptop out there for $500 (just asked you guys for conformation) so i said what is the use of buying a laptop that can't fulfill my needs and waste that money i can upgrade or can build a lot faster and better pc than the laptop in that budget. Recently i changed my mind and thought that i will just get a GT 620 (to work with till the december, that;s when he is buying me a laptop) and get the i5 laptop but it will go in vain won't it, i mainly game and that's all.

Your seriously better with building a 500$ Gaming PC then a laptop.
if you could convince him a way or the other and make him understand your said purpose out of the build of yours wont he help ?
Waiting till December is pretty much long time , i doubt that GT 620 is of any help .....
Can't you put some more buddy ?

I was thinking of getting the r7 250 since it is a good graphic card and can atleast run watch dogs on low. I can't get a higher card than that because you can see my specs (in profile pic) they are not worthy of a good card. And right now i buy only r7 250 and build a new pc later in december. As far running of watch dogs on core 2 duo i will try to upgrade to refurbished core 2 quad in due time since getting a quad core i5 will be out budget and have to buy all the things new.

You can take the R7 250 , its pretty damn good.
But if you have a core 2 duo , i think you might get a bottleneck in GPU performance from that CPU as it wont be able to keep up.
Watch Dogs as u said you had wanted to play , would get some performance hit.
But yes again , you can play at low settings.
So yeah thats a good card take that R7 250 , it will work for most of the games.

No i don't think r7 250 is going to be bottlenecked by c2d's processors. This card was build with the purpose for short budget people and to remove bottle necks from old processors. As long as there are 2 cores it will not bottle neck.

ohk sure !
Your good with that then.
I was worried about bottlenecking and if it wont happen in this build then your in luck , go ahead !
