play a movie with 5.1 speakers

okay i have a led tv http

and my problem started when i tried to watch a movie with 5.1 channel 1080p ...the movie was in my pendrive.i thought i would connect the pendrive to my led and the audio out of my led(aux output) to the L and R ports of the woofer..and volla i will get 5.1 sound...but later i realized that it was just a pseudo sound because i have connected the aux of led tv to stereo input of woofer...so my question is, to play a movie with 5.1 sound in my pendrive ,is it possible to connect something to tv (my tv gives only aux output) that would give output for 5.1 channel to my woofer...or should i buy a 5.1 surround sound dvd player which connects to woofer through 5.1 channels(6 cables-front left and right ,rear left and right ,centre and woofer) and video output of dvd player to led tv..and i will connect my pendrive to the dvd player...basically which permutation should i apply to get 5.1 sound for a movie in pendrive with 5.1 speakers and an led that doesnot give 5.1 output

Hi there,
Your speakers system should automatically convert the stereo signal too a 5.1 surround sound to all the speakers.
What audio ports does your tv have?

No that is wrong if the TV is only putting out stereo L/R channel that is all you are going to get. It will not magically convert it to 5.1 because the extra channels do not exist. With the configuration you have the only real way would be to get a device that can play the video on your pen drive that has 5.1 out that will connect to your sound system.

But you will need to make sure that the Blu-Ray player or what ever you get can also handle the format and codec that the video is encoded in.

Well why does the sound system only have RCA input then?
RCA can only carry stereo sound unless its using Dolby pro logic and/or digital.
Most modern system have a surround sound convertor which separates 2.1 input into a 5.1 output.

Your speaker set up requires a 5.1 input with 3 stereo connections to get surround sound. It is designed for a PC not a TV. You would need a home theater in a box or a speaker package that has an optical digital input (which means it does have a surround processor in it.
