Hey guy, I'm starting college for computer science in the fall, and I'm trying to find out what kind of laptop I need. I've looked on the schools website but I haven't been able to find much.

1. What is your budget?
750$ Max

2. What is the size of the notebook that you are considering?
13Inch-15.6Inch, Anything bigger feels too excessive

3. What screen resolution do you want?
1920x1080 minimum

4. Do you need a portable or desktop replacement laptop?
Portable would be nice, I need it for commuting back and forth to school on my wonderful 40 minute commute per day.

5. How much battery life do you need?
4 hours minimum

6. Do you want to play games with your laptop? If so then please list the games that you want to with the settings that you want for these games. (Low,Medium or High)?
StarCraft 2, Diablo III, WarCraft, Telltale's The Walking Dead, L4D2, Call of Duty, and some emulators, all of these on at least medium settings.

7. What other tasks do you want to do with your laptop? (Photo/Video editing, Etc.)
I'll be using it for programming, Video editing, and pen testing

8. How much storage (Hard Drive capacity) do you need?
At least 750gb

9. If you are considering specific sites to buy from, please post their links.
amazon.com maybe? It doesn't really matter

10. How long do you want to keep your laptop?
4 years

11. What kind of Optical drive do you need? DVD ROM/Writer,Blu-ray ROM/Writer,Etc ?
I have a desktop I can use, so I don't really need one.

12. Please tell us about the brands that you prefer to buy from them and the brands that you don't like and explain the reasons.
I prefer buying from Dell, I have had a very poor experience with Toshiba and Compaq's so i'd like to avoid those if possible...

13. What country do you live in?
United States

14. Please tell us any additional information if needed.
If you can't find a computer that fits the price range, I'd really appreciate it if you provide what you think the specs should be.

Thanks guys!

if you could put in another ~$100 then i would suggest the y510p from lenovo
http://shop.lenovo.com/us/en/laptops/ideapad/y-series/y510p/
it's a little bit on the heavier side though but definitely a good gaming laptop

it's really hard to find a 1920x1080p laptop for that price that will run the games you've listed and also last for 4 hours minimum and also if you want to do video editing i'm assuming you'd want an i7 which will also be really hard to fit into a $750 budget

I'd be fine with an i5, and i'm not pressed about the screen resolution, as long as the comp has the power to play the game, and I can expand the price range if I really need to.
