I need a good laptop that can play sims 3 under 300$

Good luck. The sims 3 can be a bit of a demanding game, more on RAM and CPU than anything. Just built my GF a $600 PC to run the sims smooth.

You'll be lucky to find a laptop for $300 or less, but if you do, it won't play Sims 3. Count on it.

I suggest you to buy a desktop pc. Sims 3 usually crashes on laptops, like my own one, it's got 4g ram, 2.4 cori5 cpu,but sims 3 used to work on my old pc, with 1.8cpu, 128 graphic.not good but it at least it worked. Search about sims 3 and laptop issues.it helps you find which ones not to buy.

Chromebooks maybe?

The selection criteria is set to include only those systems with a graphics card. The laptop that I purchased for $303 a few weeks ago runs Sims 3 perfectly. My daughter downloaded the Sims 4 beta, and it also runs like a dream, no lags, and at high settings.

I had to sit on the site for 2 weeks to find the $303 refurbished A10-5750 with the Radeon 8650G GPU. I recommend going to the site between 8am and 10am on weekdays, especially Mondays because that's when they seem to add new systems that have been returned from the stores. 10 minutes ago I looked at the site and they had an AMD A8 quad core cpu plus a Radeon 7000 series gpu for $360. You'll certainly be able to run Sims 3 and Sims 4 beta on that machine, for less than $400.

Ignore those folks who tell you that you can't buy a Sims 3 laptop for under $400, they're incorrect. The Lenovo Outlet sells new, scratch and dent, and refurbished laptops.

Anyone who doesn't check out the Lenovo OutLet is going to pay probably double what they could pay with a little patience until just the right system appears.

ps. they sell to the US only, as far as I know. But they have a good customer service department accessible via phone, online or email to help you if you encounter questions before you buy. Just call them and ask if they would be willing to ship to Holland. If not, then maybe they can give you the name of the EU Lenovo OutLet site.

I'm not employed by Lenovo Outlet, just a guy who wanted to buy his daughter a reliable gaming laptop, primarily for Sims 3 and the soon to be released, Sims 4. The above post purporting to show gaming laptops for under $300 doesn't. It shows laptops at Amazon that all have Intel Graphics, and this is poor for Sims 3, and simply won't work with the Sims 4 beta that has recently been made available.

They have the below listed system now for $380 at Lenovo Outlet, 9 in stock. That is one unbelievable bargain, but as I say if you sit on the site, especially on Monday mornings between 8am and 10am (CST), you will probably find an almost identical;laptop for $303. It's best to look there every morning in that time range. It took me three weeks until mine became available of looking everyday, but I found that early Monday am is the best time to look. They add all the stock that has been returned or finished over the weekend.

It will go super fast, so when you see it, have your account setup, and be prepared to put it into your shopping cart immediately. Other folks know what a steal this price is and they buy them like hotcakes. Once you've put it into your shopping cart, you have about 15 minutes to complete the purchase, otherwise the system returns it to general stock and someone else will buy it.

This is my last post on this topic since this is my third post in this thread. You won't find another price cheaper! I looked for about three months before finding this site!

I looked over the outlet site, for a Lenovo system with a warranty, those are pretty good prices. For SIMS 3 to play properly you would want an A6 CPU in the laptop. I had a Core 2 Duo laptop with a Quadro video card in it for my kids (A Lenovo T400) that had SIMS 3 on it, and it was very slow even on lower settings. Right now any system on that site that you'd want to run a decent game on is close to $400 which is still not too bad but not a super bargain for basically a used system, the biggest bonus is if you get a warranty from Lenovo on the systems for a year. I did not check that, most refurbs are a much shorter warranty.

There is a 505s for $380 that would be a good low end gaming system.

And as I said in my prior answers on this topic, be patient, and look between 8am - 10am CST on Monday mornings especially. On my G505s, purchased for $303 from there one week ago (8/04/14), I have a 3-year Lenovo warranty. 1 year extended to 3 for under $90.

I have purchased 2 systems from them in the last month, one was scratch and dent, the other refurbished. But there's no way anyone could tell between the two and a new G505s - both are in perfect condition. I read somewhere that Lenovo sometimes will have to replace a case on an otherwise new laptop, and then sell it as refurbished. Our supposedly refurbished laptop hasn't been used by anyone. I've added a memory chip inside and it's brand new.

Good luck friend - there's no rhyme or reasoning to their pricing sometimes, and the same systems may sell for $380, $355, or $303. Just keep on hitting F5 (or refreh) until you find the price you are looking for. My daughter's laptop specs are;

CPU: AMD A10-5750 4-core

Disk: 1 Terrabyte (ie. 1,000GB)
Dedicated Graphic Card: AMD Radeon 8650G (no dedicated memory on board, but has the full 384 shaders and will run almost every game out there. It relies on the A10-5750 to do the memory intensive processing. That means that you will need to have dual channel memory in your laptop. Dual channel just means two sticks of memory in your PC, such as my PC which has 6gb; 1 4gb in Slot 1, and 1 2gb in Slot 2).

Pixel Density: 1536 by 778 (?) or close to that! Screen is excellent.
Keyboard: superb - one of the best. Great feel and travel on the keys.

Secondly, I've discovered that Lenovo is the 2nd ranked manufacturer for reliability by Consumer Reports, the #1 amongst PC's only (Apple is first, of course)..Lenovo has been making high quality machines for quite awhile, and the two that I have bought in the last few months are no exception. Solid and well put together.
