Hi, i just bought a new laptop(today) and the message on the screen says: no bootable device - please restart system. and does that even tought I put in dvd with windows 7 on it and change the priorities in BIOS. And the Bios, this just could be me and my stupidity, is the weirdest one i have ever seen. no usual options available but just the very very basics like password setup for bios, enabling usb power and such...-.- and btw, i've been reading on the internet a bit, this apears to be comon problem but i cant find any solutions. any suggestions. Thx

Solution
Laptops and factory-built desktop PCs typically have a cut-down, custom-made BIOS on purpose, mainly so the manufacturer doesn't get hundreds of support calls from people who've screwed up their laptop by meddling with the BIOS settings.

If it's new you should contact the manufacture as the hard drive may need replacing, and as it's still covered by the warranty, the manufacturer pays for that, not you.
