I bought a HP ENVY Touch Screen 17 Notebook PC for Christmas, got it on sale at best buy for 799 during black Friday. It is equipped with the following specs:

Model: m7-j020DX
Processor: Intel® 4th Generation Core™ i7
Processor Speed: 2.4GHz (with Turbo Boost up to 3.4GHz)
Battery Type: 6-cell Lithium Ion (Li-Ion)
Display Type: HD LED touchscreen
Screen Size (Measured Diagonally): 17.3"
System Memory (RAM): 8GB
System Memory (RAM) Expandable To: 16GB
Type of Memory (RAM): DDR3L SDRAM
Computer Hard Drive Size: 1TB
Graphics: Intel 4600

I'm very disappointed with the Intel graphics, I should have known better then to get a pc with Intel graphics and expect them play games very well at all. Does anyone either know how to boost up the graphics in this laptop so they will play games better, or my other idea is would it be possible to get a custom motherboard to put in here with either better built in graphics or a dedicated slot for a separate graphics card? I don't mind doing the upgrades, I'm just not seeing any place online to buy custom motherboards for laptops.

Any suggestions for making games run smoothly, some of the games I play online are:
SWTOR
WOW
Diablo 3
StarCraft 2

I want to play some of the newer games like titan fall and evolve as well and just not sure I'll be happy with performance on this machine.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Remember all i7 processors have Intel integrated graphics. So if looking for a high powered gaming machine you need to look for a i series with either a Nvidia or ATI discrete card. In order to add it must have a slot on the MOBO. If it has a slot then not all cards will work.

Forget about a "custom motherboard" to replace the one in the Envy. That is not an option.

However, according to this link, the Envy can be ordered with a discrete video adapter:

HP Link

Click on customize and then look at the graphics options. Contact HP, I am sure they will sell you the component.
