I have an Acer Aspire 5742 and as of this morning, every time I power on the unit, it simply loads the first black and white screen saying ACER then simply enters a never ending loop of rebooting. Only way to cease this is to pull the battery.
I tried removing the hard drive and it will not reboot. If I attach another hard drive it begins the loop again.
I'm thinking it's not a hdd issue. Only thing that I can remember doing differently is using a different power supply that seemed to fit but not well, however it was charging while in use. It was working fine until I turned it off.
Anybody know where I can start looking at in order to fix this? New Mobo? CPU? Etc. If it's just not cost effective I'll just buy a new laptop.
