HP Pavilion 15-n274sa:

AMD Quad-Core A10-4655M APU (2 GHz, 4 MB cache)

8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3L SDRAM

with Radeon HD 7620G Graphics with 2GB dedcated DDR3

OR

ASUS X552CL-SX047H:

Intel Core i5-3337u processor (1.8GHz, 3MB Cache)

6GB DDR3

With NVIDIA GT710M 1GB dedicated DDR3

----

I was pretty set on getting the first of these, but i have heard very mixed things about the AMD A10 processors.

----

Prices are exactly the same.

Getting a laptop to go to univerisity, will be used for light-mid range gaming, and some video editing. Also will be used a lot for work etc, but i imagine both would handle that fine...

So yeah, WHICH ONE?

First one has a bit of false advertising. APUs don't get dedicated video memory, so that is 2GB out of your available 8GB. Seems to be the better buy from a productivity standpoint, but probably has the poorer battery life.

Though your second choice comes with a less then ideal 6GB configuration as well as an ultrabook processor, and practically the slowest dedicated video card available on the market. If you could find an intel i5-XXXXM class processor with a clock of 2.5Ghz or so, the onboard video would be better then a GT710M.

Really helps to have the exact links you are looking at.

Thanks :) in your opinion, which would be the better of those two Acers? The i7 in the first looks great, especially for the price...

Although, that second one does seem to be pretty damn powerful...
