I know WIndows 8 works great with touch, but I've been using it without touch since the beginning and can't say I've been missing anything. I don't really understand he point of touch on a laptop and can only see myself using it to unlock or maybe for the picture passwords. That being said, I have not tried it and it could be different. I really like The Envy 17. Should I go with Leapmotion.?

It all depends on you. I am using windows 8.1 too and it isn't bad without touch. I almost feel like i am using a tablet or xbox one. For example Bluestack is an emulator for android you have to use it with mouse too and you don't even feel like you are using PC, and think about xbox one users they have to control with the joypad too without touching and they feel fine too. Why waste hundred of bucks just so that you can enjoy touch you use your smart phone for touch. All that said if you are really wanting to use touch and got the budget sure buy it.
Cheers and no pressure.

I do have a budget, and I do get the point of touch. Just wondering if it's better than having Leapmotion or should I play safe and just go with touch and have an external Leapmotion device. :)
