hello forum users,
I am Sudharsan from India, can anybody tell me which brand handycams or Camcorder are the best in the price range from $350 to $450. Please specify whether it is Sony or Panasonic or Canon and also suggest a few models.

Solution
These two may be worth a look. Both are priced about the same at around $400.
Panasonic HC-V550 Full HD Camcorder
Sony 8GB HDR-PJ275 Full HD Handycam Camcorder with Built-in Projector (Black)
The Canon 32GB VIXIA HF R52 Full HD Camcorder might be worth a look. It is at the high end of your budget at $449. Reviews and opinions: http://camcorders.reviewed.com/content/canon-vixia-hf-r52-first-impressions-review

hello kenrivers,
Thank you for your suggestion but here in Coimbatore (South Indian City) most of the models available are Sony and Panasonic make. Can you or anybody suggest some of the models from Sony and Panasonic in the price range of $350-$450

Thanks for both of you Kenrivers and Ubrales. I did inquire here and found out that Panasonic doesn't have a proper service network here so the only option for me is to buy a Sony make. The model 8GB HDR-PJ275 is not available here. The model available here is HDR-PJ240E Full HD with Built-in Projector, which is within my budget. Please give your suggestions regarding this model.

Looks like the HDR-PJ240E would work for you. I agree with Ubrales, the Carl Zeiss optics are great. I own four Sony camcorders and have been pleased with the performance of each. Make sure you use a Class 4 or higher micro SD card and get a couple so you will have a spare. As Ubrales has already mentioned make sure you get a good tripod as well.
