Hello Techies

I know this question has been asked before but I want an up to date answer as all the reviews from websites Top 5-10-15 for under $500 are all biased. Want a simple laptop that comes with Windows 7 and no tablet flip reversing bs. Simply going to be used for cruising the internet, Facebook, office, pictures, and occasional movie watching on the road so hdmi port to plug into tv is a must. Simply put I want the best laptop for as close to $500 as possible. I've tried to research it but the processor models get so cryptic when talking about laptop vs desktop it was just easier to ask you people with you finger on the pulse of technology. Thanks for your input ahead of time.

I know the i5 is desirable but I like the ASUS Vivobook S500CA. Even though it has an i3 processor, it also has a small (24GB) Solid State Drive, a touchscreen, as well as ASUS Quality. I will be purchasing one of these to Chromecast to my TV. I have many computers and though I own an i5, I also have a little i3 system that I play games on and it's a screamer, SO i had rather have the SSD because there are sometimes other bottlenecks in a Laptop that can lead to disappointing performance whether you have a great processor or a just a really good one. I agree with the other poster about Winodws 7. I hate W8, too, but no reason to double pay Microsoft when you can get 8 already installed, especially with touch. Plus this lap top is 50 dollars cheaper. Here is a link to it: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00FEJ07V4/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=3PNAOVWFH3GOF&coliid=I1UGSQ30JPOD6G
