Been troubleshooting this for a bit, and I'm out of ideas.
I have a PC with a Nvidia GTX560 card (with a mini hdmi output). My vizio tv is the E500i-a1 model (1080p, 120hz). When I connect the TV via hdmi to the PC, I get a "Not support" message on the TV. Opening up the nvidia control panel, the TV is indeed being detected as another monitor.
Here's what I've ruled out:
1. It's not the hdmi cable. I can connect the TV using the cable to other devices (apple TV, ps3) without issue.
2. It's not the mini-Hdmi adapter. I have another HDTV (Sony), and connecting that to my pc immediately shows the display on the TV.
3. Oddly, I can connect a laptop I have (which is also a Vizio brand) to the TV via hdmi, and it immediately displays on the screen.
4. It's not the specific hdmi port on the TV. It has four, and all result in the same problem. I can connect the ports to other hdmi devices without issue.
I've tried reducing the resolution from the PC, but no setting helped. It always resulted in the Not Support message. The resolution being used when the laptop displays on the tv is 1600 X 900.
There doesn't look like there are any special drivers to download for Vizio TVs. I've tried searching around the web, but the only solutions I've seen are to reduce the resolution.
Can anybody help?
