Hi, let me just start off by saying I am terrible at this stuff. I have got a second monitor hooked up to my laptop. I can toggle between them just fine using the fn+f8 key combination. But when I go to display setting, I only see one monitor, what do I do about this. Also I have a dell inspiron 5100 with windows xp home edition.

Haven't used XP for a while...
You may need to set it to 'extend' rather than 'duplicate'.
The other option is I'm not sure how many simultaneous display outputs that laptop supports - modern intel iGPUs support 3, while older ones only did 2. It's possible it can only run one screen at once.

I'm assuming you mean can't handle anything newer than xp?
Supposedly you should be able to run multiple displays off a Radeon 7500c.
The windows key and P might work better; not sure.
